New floor!

Today is the day we get our new cement floor! We're also working on picking out colors and textures for all of the flooring, countertops, and wall paint for the new meeting/programming room, bathrooms, and connecting areas.

Support Beams

Thank you to everyone for your patience with our unexpected closures this week. Pictured here is the reason why: one of two 26-foot, 3,120lb support beams for the future programming and meeting room.

Phase II Continues

It's clear why the lower level is blocked this summer! Our future programming room is studded with four feet deep holes that will contain support columns.

Breaking ground in the Children's Room!

The first changes to the Children's Room began this week! Our new puppet window will allow us to accommodate larger audiences comfortably, as well as utilize hand puppets and marionettes.

Dusty Progress!

Our programming and meeting room is really coming along! As you can see, there are very good reasons why lower level access is restricted this summer! Thank you for your patience.

Temperature Controlled Room

Progress has also been made in what will be the temperature controlled room (on the left) and the new boiler room (on the right). They've come a long way in two weeks!

Programming Room

One of the biggest projects in Phase II is renovating what was formerly storage space into a programming and meeting room. Here's the progress so far of what will be the left and right halves of the room:

Phase II

Phase II has begun! Loud noise and some lower level access restriction may occur. We are very excited to begin this project to bring you more usable space; beginning with what will be a temperature controlled room:

Week one of Phase Two

Lower level renovations have begun! As you can see in the picture above, the old boiler is currently being removed. When we are finished the lower level will have a new programming room! We will also have the shell of our archival room and two new ADA compliant restrooms. 

We will be open during construction but there will be limited access to the lower level of course. Please check back here or call us at: 906-486-4381 for the latest updates on construction.
